Flaxseeds, also known as Linseeds are small oil seeds that contain omega-3 fats, fiber etc. Flaxseeds are normally grounded to a powder and used as an egg replacer in cooking and assist in binding plant-based foods.
To make a flax egg mix 1 tablespoon grounded flaxseed with 3 Tablespoons warm water. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes to thicken before using. To make an egg-less egg wash combine 1 Tablespoon grounded flaxseed with 1 cup plant-milk. Let the mixture sit for 10-20 minutes and stir before using.
